Stuani seals it at the Power8 Stadium

The Uruguayan striker's goal clinched the win for the home side in the 90th minute with the score on 1-1.

RCD Espanyol overcame Granada CF 2-1 on matchday 15 of the Liga BBVA. For Joaquín Caparrós’ men the defeat made it eleven rounds without a win.

Granada were superior in the first half but it was Sergio González’s men who managed to take the lead before the break. The visitors were threatening Kiko Casilla’s goal dangerously but the Catalan keeper, man of the match, stood firm to keep them out. It was the Espanyol goalkeeper again who produced an excellent save to stop an El Arabi header that would have made it 0-1.

The visitors continued to press but forward Felipe Caicedo struck and neither Roberto nor the Andalusian defence were able to keep the ball out, opening the scoring. In the final stages of the first half, Piti found himself alone in front of Casilla, but once again the keeper produced the goods and the scoreline stayed at 1-0.After the break, the home side showed more commitment and Sergio García sent out a warning with a shot that hit the crossbar.

But shortly after, El Arabi appeared to level the match, with a shot from a throw-in to the far post. With the score level, the game grew in intensity and both sides battled for the three points, but finally a goal from Christian Stuani in the 90th minute earned the victory for the Catalan side in a very hard-fought encounter.
