Málaga and Real Sociedad share the spoils

Although the Andalusians opened the scoring, Rubén Pardo rescued a point for the Basques in the 83' with a great bit of play.

Saturday's Liga BBVA matchday 29 action ended with a 1-1 draw between Málaga CF and Real Sociedad, an honours even result which left both sides, who sit mid-table, wanting for more.

The first half was defined by fast tempo, plenty of chances and the bags of energetic display by the players who were battling it out in La Rosaleda. Although the Costa del Sol side took initial control of the game and were in all-out attack mode under the stewardship of Juanmi, who recently got called up for international duty, Real Sociedad could have gone into the half time break in front had one of Gonzalo 'Chory' Castro or Sergio Canales’s efforts found the back of the net before the first 45 minutes were up.

The Andalusians and the Basques continued trying to break the deadlock after the restart in search of a good result. Following numerous back and forths by both sides, Recio got on the end of a Samu Castillejo cross to beat Gerónimo Rulli with a powerful header. After that, Real Sociedad bore down on Carlos Kameni's net, but the Málaga keeper, who put in a fine performance, was able to deal with David Moyes’s men’s attempts on goal until the 83' when a Alfred Finnbogason pass found Rubén Pardo, who got an equaliser to rescue an away point for the San Sebastian team.
