Eibar dazzle in the Ipurua

The Basque side entertained their fans with a 5-2 win over Almería that catapults them into ninth place.

SD Eibar continue to prove how well they have adapted to the Liga BBVA. This time, the Armeros beat UD Almería 5-2 in one of the matchday 14 clashes. The win puts the Basque club in ninth position in the table with 19 points, while the Andalusians are still in 17th place with ten.

The Municipal de Ipurua witnessed a frenetic first half, packed with goals and quality football. Eibar started with bags of intensity and they were quickly rewarded for their hard work, taking the lead after three minutes with a low shot from Piovaccari. Although Wellington Silva was close to equalising shortly afterwards, Saúl Berjón made it 2-0 when the clock read 21 with an individual move inside the box.

The Basque side just kept coming and Raúl Albentosa scored the third for the home side, nodding home from a corner. The three goals conceded led Francisco Rodríguez to bring on Fernando Soriano, who responded by pulling one back on the verge of half-time.

It was a similar story after the restart, as Eibar continued to dominate and ended up sealing the game with two more goals. Raúl Navas and Ander Capa were the players who made it 5-1, and had the Eibar fans in raptures. In the dying minutes Edgar Méndez completed the 5-2 scoreline.
