Real Madrid player Sergio Ramos has won the trophy for the 'Best Defender in the 2013-14 Liga BBVA'. The Whites' player beat defenders Filipe Luis, the ex-Rojiblanco and current Chelsea FC player, and João Miranda (Atlético Madrid).
Ramos is the Kaiser of Madrid and Spain's defence and, for the second consecutive year, he has been named the best defender in the Spanish topflight. Last season he was the Whites' hero as he nodded home the goal that took the Champions League final to extra time after 93 minutes.
He arrived at the Santiago Bernabéu in the summer of 2005 and his versatility has earned him a regular place in the starting eleven year after year, be it in the centre of the defence or as a full-back. The 28-year-old played 32 games last season and more than 2,700 minutes, scoring four goals.© LaLiga - Year 2014
