Manucho, Rayo's hero in Granada

The side from Vallecas won 0-1 against the Analusian outfit thanks to a late effort from their Angolan frontman.

Rayo Vallecano won 0-1 against Granada CF in the eighth round of Liga BBVA. Equality ruled for most of the game, before striker Manucho cropped up with the winner in the 93rd minute.

The Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes witnessed a first half that was evenly shared out in terms if possession, without too many chances being created in either area. The clearest opportunity of the first half was for the Madrid outfit, when Licá's effort forced Roberto Fernández into a stunning save. The home side also had their chances to go in ahead at the break, Jeison Murillo heading just over.

Rayo, who had struggled to break down the Granada backline, decided long range efforts would be the way to go at the star if the second half. Neither Licá, not Emiliano Insua were able to trouble Roberto with their shots, however. The entry of Rubén Rochina and Youssef El Arabi gave life to the Andalusian side, growing in threat, but the visitors also showed their defensive mettle. When it seemed the points would be shares, up popped Manucho in added time as Roberto was finally beaten and Paco Jémez's side took the points.
