Enrique Martin (Campanas, Navarre, 1956) has been named the BBVA Liga Adelante Manager of the Month for June, after overseeing an excellent playoff campaign to seal At.Osasuna's promotion to the top flight.
The Navarre outfit's playoff campaign really couldn't have gone any better. Martin led his side to four wins from four, as Osasuna notched nine goals and conceded four in their semi-final and showpiece triumphs over Gimnastic and Girona FC. Prior to the playoffs, Los Rojillos had got the month up and running in real style with a 5-0 away drubbing of Real Oviedo in their last regular league outing of the season, a result which saw them clinch sixth place.
Martin's men got their playoff campaign off to the perfect start, running out 3-1 winners in an encouraging display against Nastic at El Sadar, before rounding things off with a 3-2 away triumph at the Nou Estadi. Martin's charges maintained their strong home form in the final, claiming a 2-1 win on their own patch, before Kenan Kodro's strike was enough to separate the sides and seal a return to the promised land at Montilivi.
This accolade, which is awarded by BBVA and voted for by the LaLiga.es writers, recognises the work of Martin at the helm of a side who next term will take their place in the best league in the world after two seasons down in the Liga Adelante.© LaLiga - Year 2016
