BBVA Prizes: Manu Barreiro, best player in the Liga Adelante in March

The Alavés forward, leading scorer for the Vitoria side, has helped his side to dream about a play-off place thanks to his five goals last month.

The excellent performances from Manu Barreiro (Santiago de Compostela, 1986) in the D. Alavés attack, have earned him the BBVA Prize for "Best Player in the Liga Adelante in March", an award chosen by the LFP.es website and presented by BBVA, the league’s main sponsor.

Barreiro, who scored five goals in the league last month, has had a decisive role in helping the Vitoria side into 11th place, meaning that they are only six points away from promotion. The Galician striker began scoring goals in the postponed matchday 24 game against At. Osasuna, a match that D. Alavés won 3-0. Although he was unable to avoid the 3-2 defeat against CD Lugo despite scoring another brace, he once again had a decisive role with another goal in the 2-1 win against R. Racing C.
