Barcelona continue winning ways

The Azulgranas bagged another win at this early stage of the season with their 6-0 defeat of Granada. Messi reached 400 goals in his professional career.

FC Barcelona showed all their firepower on matchday 6 of the Liga BBVA in their 6-0 drubbing of Granada CF at the Camp Nou. Neymar, with a hat-trick, Iván Rakitić and Lionel Messi, with a brace, completed a thrashing that keeps them top of the table.

By the end of a jubilant first half, Barcelona already had the match in the bag. Granada's lightning start, in which they looked to use their speed to do some damage to the Azulgranas, was short-lived at the Camp Nou. Neymar, who scored two goals, was the first to put his name on the scoreboard. Ivan Rakitić added one of his own a few minutes later with a great header and the Brazilian Neymar once against showed all his cunning and put the game beyond Granada's reach just before the break, getting on the end of a loose ball in the goal area.

After the break the pace of the game subsided. However, that did not prevent the home side from increasing their goal tally. Lionel Messi, who reached a total of 400 goals in his professional career, headed a good cross from Dani Alves into the net to earn a standing ovation from the Camp Nou. The Catalan team's goal fest continued and Neymar, who completed his first hat-trick in the Liga BBVA, and Messiu, with his second score, put the game to bed.
