Alex Szymanowski named Liga Adelante Player of the Month for January

The Argentine has been one of the key men behind Leganes's impressive run of form, with three goals in five games in January.

CD Leganes midfielder Alexander Szymanowski (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 13/10/1988) has been named BBVA Liga Adelante Player of the Month for January, on the back of a stunning start to the calendar year, with three goals in five games.

The game against CD Mirandes on Matchday 21 sparked the Argentine's goalscoring run which has been crucial to the club's rise towards the top of the table, with goals also coming in the following two wins against tough opposition in the shape of UD Almeria and Cordoba CF.

This accolade, which is awarded by BBVA, the competition's main sponsor, and voted for by the LaLiga.es writers, recognises the 27-year-old's outstanding performances. With 8 goals in 23 games so far this season, Szymanowski has cemented his position as one of the team's key players.
